This baseline assessment examines legislative openness, citizen participation, data availability and data quality in the 7th Assembly of the Ekiti State House of Assembly (Ekiti House of Assembly) inaugurated on 6 June 2023. The report is a reference document for the Speaker and Clerk of the House, civil society partners, donors, and Ekiti citizens.
The assessment is benchmarked against the Declaration on Parliamentary Openness, a framework endorsed by over 140 parliamentary monitoring organisations worldwide and used by parliamentary monitoring groups, researchers, and the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS) in Nigerian sub-national openness work.
